Help please,on water conservation power point!?
I am working on a water conservation power point that has to be atleast 8 minutes long. I have no clue where to begin and where to end! Please give me some advice on how to organize my slides and what in the world should I talk about in each slide?!

- hmmm slide order 12345678 and topic water conservation
- If you can't handle it, just don't do it and fail.
- do some research. understand what you researched. make a powerpoint with minimal information on it, and speak from notes rather than the powerpoint (teachers love that). mission accomplished!
- I would recommend breaking it down by issue (maybe by region) and then end with some potential solutions. A few issues that I can think of off the top of my head are (a) aquifers in the southwest that are being drained faster than they can be refilled with rainwater; (b) rivers drying up - see the Colorado river or the Jordan river in the Middle East; (c) hydro dams and how that affects water evaporation; (d) the threat of rising oceans and how the added salt could change our rivers. If this is too many ideas, I would focus on one that is local to you. You can also focus on solutions that can de done at home - low flow or two-flush toilets, gray-water recycling systems, taking shorter showers. I really like what some cities are doing to increase the number of plants and green spaces (including roofs) to take up more water and reduce the amount of storm drain runoff. Good luck with your research!
- Today when fresh water levels in many parts of the world have dropped alarmingly, the need to conserve water has grown in importance. If you go to http://www.bewaterwise.com you will find a lot of information on water shortage and tips on how to conserve water. Perhaps this will be of good use for your presentation. Hope this helps.
- Try to explain how the "regular" house owner could help to save water. e.g. Taking a shower rather than a bath can save enough water for 1000 cups of tea/coffee. Use rain collectors (buckets) in the garden to collect the rain. Rain contains less chemicals that tap water. Turn taps off when brushing teeth / taking a shave. This saves up to 6 ltrs of water a minute. When making your powerpoint, don't fill it with a load of info, treat each slide like a poster. You need to focus on 2 or 3 points per slide, and a couple of diagrams, graphs etc will help fill blank space. Always practice power point presentations, and time yourself each time you do it. Remember you'll probably speak quicker when doing the actual presentation.
